(Please note that the retreat is now full but I most likely will lead another retreat to Peru next year so start saving now! <3)
August 8-16, 2015
Do you love yoga? Have you dreamed of seeing Machu Picchu? This is your trip! Experience a life-changing yogic journey through the mystical wonders of Peru and Machu Picchu, voted as one of the Best 25 Trips in the World by National Geographic Adventure.
We'll begin and end our trip in the culturally-rich city of Cusco, the former capital of the Inca empire. From there we'll travel to our stunning retreat center in the Urubamba Valley, also known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas. For six days, we'll tour the unforgettable sacred ruins of the region while immersing ourselves in vibrant, present-day Quechuan culture. We'll try tasty local food and explore dynamic textile markets. Our trip will culminate in a two day adventure in and above the hallowed ruins of Machu Picchu and in Aguas Calientes, including a hike to the top of Mandor Falls. From there, we'll see Machu Picchu from above, taking time to soak up the energy of the site with a yoga practice and picnic lunch.
Our group will meet daily to cultivate inner stillness through meditation, yoga and the practice of Ayurvedic principles. All classes will be held in the round meditation hall at our retreat center, a location blessed with a 360 degree view of the Andes Mountains. Surrounded by beauty, away from our busy lives, we'll start listening to ourselves again. As a group, we'll inspire a deeper level of intuition and use our practices, including an optional dream consultation and analysis, to rediscover our true purpose in this world.
Our retreat center is owned by a Peruvian family that has a deep connection to the mystical traditions of the region. They will lead us to each site, illustrating the cultural and spiritual importance of the land. If you desire, you can also participate the sacred tradition of a sweat lodge with them during our stay at the center.
You will come away from this trip with greater peace and self-knowledge. These beautiful sites, mystical experiences and the depth of our yogic practices will connect you more deeply to yourself in ways you have never even imagined. Do not miss this trip of a lifetime!

Yoga, Meditation and Ayurvedic Study in Peru August 08 – 16, 2015
Day 1 – Arrival to Lima and transfer to our flight to Cusco where we will be met. After lunch in Cusco we will travel by van to Pachamama Wasi in the Urubamba Valley, also known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Once we arrive we can rest a while and then have our opening circle before dinner. Our yoga classes will be held in a round Meditation Hall that has a 360 degree view of the Andes Mountains.
All meals are vegetarian with the exception of the possibility to eat eggs at breakfast. All meals are included while at Pachamama Wasi. On those days when are visiting local archeological sites and are not at Pachamama Wasi at lunch time and need to eat in a restaurant then everyone needs to pay for themselves.
Day 2 – After our morning yoga class and breakfast our tour conductor, Mallku Malasquez, will take us on a hike so that we can get a feel of the village that we are in and the lives of the local people. Return to Pachamama Wasi for lunch and a rest before our evening Meditation and Ayurvedic Study before dinner.
Day 3 – Yoga class, breakfast and then a drive through the valley to reach the village of Pisac. We will drive until we reach the hiking path that takes us to the archeological site believed to have built by the same Inca who was responsible for the construction of the Machu Picchu sanctuary. We will hike for one and a half to two hours and have the opportunity to feel the energy of the Andes Mountains and marvel at the work of the Incas. We will have lunch in the village below and have some time for shopping before returning to Pachamama Wasi for our evening session with Gracy and then dinner.
Day 4 – After a wonderful yoga class and breakfast we will start our journey first to Moray. Here concentric circles form what looks like amphitheaters but were actually used by the Incas as agricultural experimental centers to test at which altitude crops would do their best. If the sun is not too hot then we can do yoga in one of the unreconstructed ones. After a picnic lunch we will continue on the “Salineras,” salt fields. They are quite impressive to look at and great in photos. We return to Pachamama Wasi for our work with Gracy and dinner.
Day 5 – First yoga and breakfast before we will go to the village of Ollantaytambo. The archeological site here was never finished as the Spanish arrived. The work is still very impressive with lots of stairs to climb and beautiful views in the distance. We will have lunch here and walk around the village a little bit before returning to Pachamama Wasi for an early evening sweat (optional) and then dinner.
Day 6 – We are up early, maybe we can do yoga before leaving which will be determined by what time our train to Machu Picchu departs from the Ollantaytambo train station. After checking into our hotel you can eat something if you are hungry and then we will take our bus to the sanctuary of Machu Picchu where we will meet our guide. After an amazing day we will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes where our hotel is situated and have a nice dinner together. Breakfast is included.
Day 7 – After breakfast and leaving our luggage in the storeroom we will go to the local market to buy avocados, bread, fruit, etc. for our picnic lunch and start our hike to the Mandor Waterfall. Bring your bathing suit just in case you feel like going into the cold water. The hike is not strenuous as it is mostly flat but it will take us between one and a half to two hours to get there. Machu Picchu will be on our left and upon our arrival the entrance into Mandor is on our right. Butterflies, birds and beautiful flowers will be waiting to greet us. We will take our yoga mats so we can do yoga before our picnic lunch. We need to return to Aguas Calientes to take our afternoon train back to Ollantaytambo where our van will be waiting to take us to Pachamama Wasi. Breakfast and dinner included.
Day 8 – After our closing circle and breakfast we will be going to Cusco. We will have the day to explore the city and do some shopping if you would like. Breakfast included.
Day 9 – Transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima and your connection home.
